3) Internet research on Kwakiutls found pics and articles and even added entries on Wikipedia regarding them
4) Created canoes with Kwakiutl related info on them
5) Handed out grade reports (to be signed)
6) Talked about Obama Speech and Palin as VP last 5 min. of class

What to Have for Tuesday
1) Signed grade report
2) Prepared for quiz on Inuit and Kwakiutl (Bell Ringer will be review)
3) Be ready to be the Sioux

Other Stuff
1) Unit 2 Test will be Friday...we keep trucking along...review day will be Thursday
2) Wednesday will be a double-header both Pueblo and Iroquis
3) Vocab due Thursday

Go Fish

Today's class ended with us going fishing.

What Happened:

1) Unit 1 Test and remaing quizzes were handed back
2) Vocab words were handed out due next Thursday in given format
(Inuit, Igloo, Kwakiutl, Sioux, Tepee, Adobe, Pueblo, Iroquiz)
3) Inuit Notes
4) Inuit Olympics
-Students formed into teams based on Inuit-related animals
-Students then designed an outfit out of fur, built an igloo, and made a travel brochure
-But whats clothing and shelter with out food so hunters from each team went fishing for live fish for their team

What's Going On Tomorrow
1) Kwakiutl Notes
2) Kwakiutl Fun
3) Grade reports given out at end of class--to be signed

Other Stuff:
1) Football game rained out today
2) Watch Obama for extra-credit tonight

Testing, Testing...

Today's Test was a huge...I mean huge success. Everyone did excellent on the test. Notebooks and assignments were graded today as well and most of it was superior. Good stuff really.

I should be sending home a grade report Friday.

I apologize for the late post, but I am working with the Tech Dept. at school to make sure I can access this blog at school.

We start Early Americans tommorrow...aka Native Americans.

Floyd T. Binns vs. Culpeper Middle Football Game is tomorrow

15 pts extra-credit for watchin Obama acceptance speech Thursday night. My guess on the time is 8:00pm EST -ish, and should be on most channels. (McCain speech in the coming weeks will be 15 pts too)

What We Did Today:
1) Bell Ringer on Major Bodies of Water for the U.S.
2) Quiz on Major Bodies of Water for the U.S. (matching and listing)
3) Handed back quiz on North America's Geographic Regions
4) Completed Study Guide for tomorrow's Unit 1 TEST (study guide very similar to test!)
5) Played 'Geo'pardy in a team format with white boards for a fun review

What's Needed for Tomorrow:
1) Study for the Unit 1 TEST
2) Notebook with all assignments and notes completed
3) Quiz signed as needed (under 75%)
